For those that are unfamiliar with teeth treatment or repair, an immediate denture is a complete or partial denture that is inserted on the same day immediately after the removal or extraction of natural teeth.
An immediate denture is often needed for patients with serious teeth problems who cannot or are reluctant in accepting oral implants after teeth extraction. The core reason for immediate denture is to prevent patients that have undergone partial and in most cases complete teeth removal from going a few numbers of weeks without teeth.
For example, let’s assume that you have ten natural upper teeth that need to be removed. The conventional way would be removing the teeth first and wait a number of weeks for healing before we can fabricate a denture.. In the absence of an immediate denture, this implies that you have to live all those weeks of recovery without a single tooth in your mouth.
To prevent this occurrence, we will start the immediate denture procedure where we take the impression of your teeth, and we have a ready to insert denture on the same day of teeth extraction.
However, as good as immediate denture is, it presents its challenges;
